Mr. Lewis, who joined BB&T Capital Markets in 2002, follows the Industrial Equipment—Distribution & Components sector. In The Wall Street Journal's annual "Best on the Street" analyst survey, Lewis was ranked #5 in the business and industrial services industry for his stock picking abilities in 2010 and #3 in 2007. In its 2011 “World’s Top Analysts” survey, Financial Times/StarMine named him #2 for his stock picking in trading companies and distribution and #3 for earnings estimates. He has made the StarMine list for seven consecutive years. In its 2010 "Blue Chip Analyst" awards, Forbes.com ranked him #5 in the industrial services industry (he ranked #5 in the machinery industry in 2009); performance is based on three years of both earnings estimates and recommendations.
Prior to joining the firm, he followed the same sector at CIBC World Markets, where he was a director, and at Dain Rauscher, where he was vice president.
Mr. Lewis received his undergraduate degree in business management from the University of Vermont.
