John B. Jung, Jr.
Experience
As the Chief Operating Officer at BB&T Capital Markets, Mr. Jung focuses on integrating BB&T Capital Markets platform with BB&T’s banking operations. Mr. Jung has 24 years of experience in the capital markets business, the first 13 as an investment banker, fixed-income trader, and head of sales and trading at Craigie Incorporated (a merger partner of BB&T), and the last eleven as a member of the BB&T Capital Markets management group. Mr. Jung brings a wealth of hands-on knowledge to the challenges of integrating a full-service capital markets platform with one of the nation’s fastest growing banks.
Education
Mr. Jung graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering. After two years in the management consulting practice at Ernst & Whinney, he returned to The Darden School at the University of Virginia, where he earned his Masters in Business Administration. Mr. Jung serves on the Board of Directors of Scott & Stringfellow, is the Chairman of the Greater Richmond Chamber Foundation and a Trustee of the Virginia Synod – ELCA.
