Mr. McCall, who joined BB&T Capital Markets in 2003, now follows the Commercial Durables sector. In its 2011 "World's Top Analysts" survey, Financial Times/StarMine named him #2 for his stock picking in commercial services and supplies. In The Wall Street Journal’s annual “Best on the Street” analyst survey, Mr. McCall ranked #3 for his stock picking in home construction and furnishings industry in both 2010 and 2009. He ranked #5 in the category in 2007 and #1 in 2006. In 2009, Forbes.com ranked Mr. McCall #2 in the home furnishing & appliances industry in its "Blue Chip Analyst" awards; performance is base on three years of both earnings estimates and recommendations.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. McCall was an associate analyst with Wachovia Securities, where he followed print media/information services as well as enterprise software.
He earned a bachelor of business administration from East Tennessee State University and received his MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he was a Dean's Scholar and recipient of the Thalhimer Family Scholarship. Mr. McCall is also a member of the CFA Institute.
