Mr. Lewis, who joined BB&T Capital Markets in 2002, follows the small and mid-cap companies in the Defense & Government Services sector.  Over the past few years, he has received various industry recognitions for his stock picking acumen:

  • The Financial Times/StarMine "World's Top Analysts" survey–#3 U.S. based stock picker in the aerospace and defense industry.

In 2009

  • The Wall Street Journal's 17th annual "Best on the Street" analyst survey–#3 stock picker in the information technology sector and #2 U.S. based stock picker in the aerospace and defense industry. 
  • The Financial Times/StarMine "World's Top Analysts" survey–#1 U.S. based stock picker in the information technology sector and #2 U.S. based stock picker in the aerospace and defense industry.

Mr. Lewis’ past experience in equity research included several years with Wachovia Securities and Interstate/Johnson Lane in Atlanta.  He is a member of the CFA Institute; the Washington Society of Investment Analysts; the National Defense Industrial Association; and AFCEA, International (Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association).

Education

Mr. Lewis earned a bachelor of business administration in finance from the University of Georgia.
