Preston W. Bergen
Experience
As the Team Leader for Corporate Banking across the Southeastern Region, Mr. Bergen is devoted to leading and delivering BB&T’s capital markets and banking services to large corporate clients. Mr. Bergen has over 20 years of experience in banking, the first 14 years with Wachovia Bank in credit underwriting and relationship management, and the last six years with BB&T in corporate banking and sales leadership. Mr. Bergen’s expertise in serving corporations includes all aspects of capital sourcing, hedging risk and enhancing business processes.
Education
Mr. Bergen graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and earned a Masters in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is also a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Bergen serves on the boards of directors of Guilford College, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the Natural Science Center of Greensboro.
