Roberts A. Bass
Mr. Bass currently manages BB&T Capital Markets’ Specialized Industry Corporate Banking Team. Integrating with equity and debt capital markets, treasury services, and institutional services, his team manages corporate banking relationships nationally with public and large private firms in eight industry sectors. He also serves on the advisory board of BB&T’s Commercial Finance division.
Mr. Bass joined BB&T Capital Markets in 2002 after spending 14 years with Wachovia Securities and Wachovia Bank, where he served as a banker and credit officer in the International, Asset Based Lending, and Corporate & Investment Banking divisions. Previously he was CFO of a $50 million revenue company.
During Mr. Bass’ tenure, clients of the Specialized Industry Corporate Banking Team have engaged BB&T’s affiliates to lead or co-manage public equity offerings, public debt offerings, tax exempt bonds, private capital placements, bank syndications, liquidity facilities, and vendor trade financings. Clients have also hired BB&T affiliates for merger & acquisition, treasury, and insurance brokerage advisory services.
Mr. Bass holds a BS from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and an MBA with honors from the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University.
