Samuel R. Shirey
Mr. Shirey joined BB&T in June 2006, focusing on servicing clients in debt origination and creative liability strategies. Previously employed by Wachovia Securities on the high grade debt desk, he was instrumental in the development of Wachovia’s debt underwriting business as the platform went from start-up to top 10 in the league tables. In that regard, he had primary responsibility for over 75 book-running transactions while at Wachovia.
Mr. Shirey earlier was employed as a CPA and as a manager by KPMG Peat Marwick in that firm’s Mortgage and Structured Finance Group in Washington, D.C.
Having served corporate clients for over 20 years, Mr. Shirey possesses experience in the following areas:
